When your child joins Our Lady of Grace Infants, you will be provided with a username and password for our online learning platform “Google Classroom”.   Google Classroom is a safe and secure solution for pupils to access learning materials directly from their teachers and a hub to allow blended learning direct from their school classrooms into the comfort of their own home.

Please accept your invitation to join your class/es.  Every week, home learning tasks will be posted on Google Classroom and can be viewed by clicking on the “classwork” tab.  Teachers will also provide a link to the required activity, for your ease.

We also use the Google Classroom Stream for posting updates and messages.   To keep up-to-date, please make sure you have installed the Google Classroom App onto your mobile devices and that notifications are switched on.

In addition to the home learning activities on Google Classroom, your child will receive a library book and, as their phonic knowledge develops, they will be assigned sound blending books online via Oxford Owl.  Once your child is blending, they will receive a paper “Ditty” sheet to read.   After further progression, your child will take home a phonic book and a book bag book linked to their phonic knowledge.

If your child is isolating, you will receive guidance via Google Classroom from your child’s teacher with details of the activities to be completed, using the platforms mentioned above.  However, if your child is too ill to attend school, then they are not expected to engage in home learning.
