In order to ensure that learning is continued should the school have to close (for whatever reason), Our Lady of Grace Catholic Infant School is ready to immediately switch to remote learning. Engagement in remote learning is expected of all children, just as it is expected that Our Lady of Grace makes that provision available and accessible to all – indeed it is our duty.
We are extremely proud of our pupils and parents for their fantastic engagement with remote learning over the past 18 months. We have achieved a 95% attendance rate for our pupils.
Remote learning will be provided via Google Classroom and live lessons will be taught using the Google Meet function.
Google Meet is built into the Google Classroom function. However, if you are using a mobile device (such as a phone or tablet), the Google Meet App will need to be separately installed. The links for all lessons will only be visible to you a few minutes before your child’s lesson is due to begin. This will appear as a video icon on a mobile device or a hyperlink on your PC/laptop. Google Meets will be recorded by the school for safeguarding purposes but under no circumstances should a pupil or parent record any online lesson.
A daily plan will be posted on to Google Classroom every morning at 8am. This provides information about the live lessons, the independent tasks the children need to complete and resources to support their learning.
