Religious Education

Classroom Religious Education

RE is taught for 10% of the weekly timetable. The curriculum is based on the delivery of the Curriculum Directory supported by the Margaret Carswell Units. We also teach other major faiths across the school in Multi-Faith Weeks that reflect the diverse world in which the children live.

RE is also a focus in our weekly newsletter.

Class Names

The School has chosen to name our classes with the names of Saints whom we feel represent the diverse culture of our School and which have special meaning for each class.  The Saints Day for each class will be celebrated and children can wear their own clothes on that day.  The children have created pictures of each Saint to look over their classes and have produced some fantastic work.
Nursery:      Saint Francis of Assisi
Reception:  Saint Bernadette
 and Saint Peter
Year 1:         Saint Martin de Porres  and Saint Faustina
Year 2:         Saint Catherine Laboure  and Saint Vincent de Paul

Collective Worship

Classroom worship is an integral part of everyday life at Our Lady of Grace Infant School. Children are encouraged to be responsible, participate and lead in this reflective experience.

The Common Good

The School actively engages in charitable outreach which benefits not only those in need but our pupils by developing their social responsibility.  Due to the Covid pandemic, our usual fundraising events were curtailed for 2020-21 - we did however support CAFOD, the Catholic Children's Society and the Brent Food Bank.

We are proud to have also supported the following charities in the last two years: HCPT, Saint Vincent de Paul Society; Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead; Macmillan Nurses; Operation Christmas Child; Great Ormond Street Hospital and Jeans for Genes.
