What is the Pupil Premium Grant?

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is Government money designed to help disadvantaged children and young people do well at school.  The funding is allocated to schools on the basis of the number of pupils on roll who were in receipt of free school meals (FSM) in October 2022 or for pupils who have ever been in receipt of FSM in the previous 6 years (Ever 6).  For the financial year 2022-23 schools will receive £1,345 for each such pupil.  The school also receives £302.10 for each pupil entitled to the Early Years Pupil Premium (Nursery).  Schools will also receive £2,345 for each looked-after pupil who has been looked after for 1 day or more, was adopted from care on or after 30 December 2005 or previously looked after pupil.

What is the Primary PE & Sports Grant?

The government is providing additional funding of £150 million per year in order to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools across the country. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport - will be allocated to primary school head teachers.  Funding has been confirmed for the financial year 2022-23 of £16,000 plus £10.00 per student in KS1.

This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

We are using our Sports Premium funding to improve the quality of our PE and Sport provision at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Infant School - please click on the links below for further information.
